Edwin Louis Cole pioneered the Christian Men's Network in 1977. His ministry career started by doing work in the local church, then as an evangelist, then pastor, denominational leader, and finally a Christian television pioneer before fulfilling his greatest passion—discipling men in Christlikeness.
Dr. Cole became an internationally-acclaimed speaker, best-selling author, motivational lecturer, and a "father" to millions of men. He mentored readers through pithy statements, the practical application of wisdom, and a confrontational style that demanded social responsibility and family leadership.
The New York Times called Ed Cole the "father of the Christian men's movement." He was a "primary voice," as Jack Hayford put it. His twenty bestselling books became the core of Majoring in Men®, the most widely-used men's mentoring curriculum in the world. Dr. Cole was unquestionably the greatest men's minister of his generation.
In 1984, Dr. Cole launched an "International Christian Men’s Event" in Houston, Texas and renamed it Lions Roar in the 1990s. At the Lions Roar Global Men's Summit, the men mentored and influenced by Ed Cole gather to work, strategize, worship, inspire and encourage each other to press on in reaching the men of this generation for Christ.
